Nube -cloud in Spanish- exquisitely blends Contemporary Latin American and World music. Comprised of guitar, harp, flutes, and percussion, this ensemble fuses the sound and mood of different latitudes to create lush musical landscapes, rooted in the warmth of a South American ambience.

 

Karullacta Productions presents. "CARLOS QUINCHE", a performing music artist from Ecuador S.A., currently living in MN. Music is traditional instruments from Ecuador made from bamboo materials. In some recordings he uses instruments from Native American cultures.

PRESENTER: Deanna Reiter - Deanna has made fitness a life-long priority and enjoys yoga, weight lifting, running, biking and swimming. She comes to NETA with 17 years of experience in the fitness industry. She is the author of Dancing with Divinity: Positive Affirmations for any Situation and The Nine Scoundrels: How to Recognize and Release Subtle Patterns of Sabotage. BIO: Assistant Teacher Anlin Zen, Anlin has been study Taichi chuan and Taichi Sword at Twin Cities Tai Chi school for several years. She is a advanced student and is helping Master Yim in teaching large classes.

TOPIC: Larry Yazzie - NATIVE PRIDE DANCER - Fancy Dance

DESCRIPTION: This demonstration features the solo dancing of Larry Yazzie, World Champion Fancy Dancer. In NATIVE PRIDE DANCER, Mr. Yazzie presents a series of dances, including the Fancy, Eagle, Buffalo, and Round, and contextualizes them in his own experiences and in contemporary American Indian cultures. This show includes audience participation and can be presented at both K-12 and College/University levels.


BIO: Larry Yazzie (Meskwaki/Dine) is a International Lecturer, Educator, Performer, and a World Champion Fancy Dancer. Raised on the Meskwaki Indian Settlement in Central Iowa, he began dancing at the age of 7. Throughout his childhood Larry was instructed on the traditions of the Meskwaki People, including the flamboyant and energetic fancy dance and the northern Plains style of singing.

“Through my dancing and singing, I experience a zone of free spirit, where everyday problems and worries are left behind. As a performer, it makes me feel good to share this positive energy with other people”

Larry began dancing competitively at powwows in his early teens. A renowned fancy dancer who consistently takes top honors at American Indian powwows throughout the United States and Canada, he won the World Championship for the Northern Style Fancy Dance in 1995. In addition to competing at powwows, Larry has been called upon to serve in a variety of positions, including Arena Director, Singing Judge, Dancing Judge, and Head Man Dancer.

DESCRIPTION: At this demonstration, you will find something geared towards all ages and all fitness levels, as well as presentations to uplift the spirit and challenge the mind. We are a private venture, the long-term vision of dedicated health professionals, seasoned combat-sports experts with olympic and pan-american games experience, alternative medicine practitioners, guides to the emotional and physical benefits of yoga practise, personal trainers and athletic coaches, and concerned and dedicated neighbors who have lived in your neighborhood for decades.

BIO: DOCS Gym is a community venture for Camden and Near North, dedicated to the health, welfare, and development of the individual through competitive and non-competitive sport and physical training. We have been in existence for nearly one full year, and we look forward to growing with you in the years ahead.

PRESENTER: Natalie Heckert

BIO: Natalie is the CEO of NATS (Nutrition & Aerobic Training Service) and the inventor of the NATS Total E Fit Gym, Slide and Glide and Mini E Fit. She also has her own line of nutritional supplements and a series of exercise videos. Natalie has designed, developed, and implemented state-of-the-art wellness centers. She originated and developed a two-year Health & Fitness Specialist Degree program in partnership with the Alexandria Technical College and she also serves as an adjunct professor for this program. Natalie is also currently a National & International Fitness Presenter.

Fun facts about Natalie: Mrs. Minnesota finalist, contestant on the Price is Right, auditioned for Oprah’s “Next Best Invention”, worked with Tracey using the E-Fit on NBC “The Biggest Loser” Natalie lives in Alexandria, Minnesota, with husband Scott and children Isaac (16), Eli (13) and Alexis (9).

DESCRIPTION: Brain Training For Fitness -This "icebreaking" skills session is a BLAST! Assess your balance and listening skills while improving blood flow to the body and spurring cell growth in the brain. Over time we lose coordination, dexterity, balance and brain function that can manifest as back pain, poor body awareness and mental analytics. Mental training requires learning to use your mind to help you consistently perform at your best.


PRESENTER: Evelyn Norton - Evie 's fitness career began in Los Angeles at prestigious studios and well known corporations. She speaks and educates nationally for NETA, as well as her own business Core SOULutions Fitness, a corporate health promotion company in Maple Grove, MN. As a committed Type 1 Diabetic of 40 years, she's run 1/2 marathons, cycled competitively, boxed and participated in body building. Her mantra is "strength from the inside out."
